LoginScout vs 1Password
If you need autofill in the browser and a mature family or business vault, look at 1Password. If you need a library for game logins plus disposable mail and SMS checks, look at LoginScout. Many people can use both.
Official 1Password site: 1Password
| Topic | LoginScout | 1Password |
|---|---|---|
| Primary job | Library of game/service logins you own, with notes and optional signup tools | General password manager for sites, apps, and (often) identities |
| Browser autofill | No. You copy from the vault. | Yes, via official extensions and apps on those products’ sites |
| Temporary email | Premium private inbox in the vault | Not a core LoginScout-style temp-mail product; check their current features |
| Burner SMS | Premium, via 5sim, monthly quota | Not LoginScout’s 5sim flow; do not assume they sell numbers |
| TOTP authenticator | Yes, secrets you import, saved only on this device | Typically yes — confirm on their feature list |
| Encryption model (LoginScout) | Vault encrypted in the browser (AES-256-GCM); not zero-knowledge (4-digit PIN, Google mode keeps a key) | See their security whitepapers; we will not paraphrase them here |
| Account limit (LoginScout) | Free: 5. Premium: 100. | See their current plans |
| Pricing | Free forever at 5 accounts; Premium $4.99/mo or $49/year as shown on /pricing | Not listed here — prices change. Open their official pricing page. |
When a gaming library is the missing piece
1Password is a general password manager. LoginScout is a web vault for launcher alts, recovery notes, TOTP, and — on Premium — a disposable inbox or SMS line for a signup you own.
People who already like 1Password still lose Steam Guard backups, Epic reset inboxes, and “this Roblox is the SMS one” in a notes app. That messy context is the job LoginScout is built for — not a claim that it autofills Chrome the way 1Password does.
Do not migrate payroll or banking here to “replace” 1Password. Check 1password.com for their current plans. We do not invent their prices.
LoginScout vs 1Password for gamers
If your problem is “Steam, Epic, and Roblox alts plus the recovery inbox and authenticator for each,” 1Password can store the passwords and TOTP. The surrounding story — which temp mail got the verify link, which burner line got the SMS, whether that alt is locked — usually still lives somewhere else.
LoginScout keeps that gaming library on one card per account you own, with optional Premium temp mail and burner SMS next to it. You copy credentials out of the vault. It does not replace 1Password’s browser extensions, desktop apps, or family/business sharing.
Household sharing of a console profile you own is fine to record. Bought or borrowed logins are not. A vault will not make those legitimate, and 1Password would not either.
Keep 1Password for money. Use LoginScout for the pile of launchers.
A practical split: 1Password (or another manager you already audit) for banks, email, and identity. LoginScout for the gaming library and the signup tools a general manager does not try to be.
If you only need one tool and you live in the browser all day, 1Password is the closer fit. If the pain is alts, recovery mail, and SMS checks for games you created yourself, start with the gaming alt guide and LoginScout’s free five-account vault.
How to choose
Keep 1Password (or Bitwarden, or another manager you already audit) for money and identity. Use LoginScout when the missing pieces are a gaming library, TOTP next to the launcher login, and — on Premium — a disposable inbox or SMS line for a signup you own.
LoginScout will not auto-fill the 1Password browser extension’s job. Do not migrate a bank login here as a “better” vault without understanding the encryption mode you picked.
- Is LoginScout a 1Password alternative for gamers?
- Only for the gaming pile. 1Password is a general password manager with browser autofill. LoginScout is a web vault for launcher alts, recovery notes, TOTP, and — on Premium — temp mail and burner SMS. Keep 1Password for banks and identity if that is what you already trust.
- Does 1Password include a LoginScout-style temp inbox?
- 1Password is not a temp-mail product. LoginScout Premium issues a vault-tied disposable inbox next to the login. Free LoginScout stores a recovery email you type — it does not issue a mailbox. Check 1password.com for their current features; we do not copy their list.
- Who publishes 1Password pricing?
- 1Password does. We do not copy their prices here because they change. Open 1password.com.
